After Hours Episode # 3 Police off the Cuff after Hours with retired NYPD Detective, Hostage Negotiator, and master trainer James Shanahan recorded 5/28/20

Detective James Shanahan a 37 year veteran of the NYPD is an amazing detective, hostage negotiator, and above all an outstanding human being. He taught thousands of Police officers, Detectives, Sergeants, and Captains, the art of de-escalation in regards to the use of force. He was one of the first instructors on the NYPD to teach Verbal Judo in the 1990's. His de-escalation instruction takes in to consideration the teachings of martial arts, psychology, and hostage negotiation. When the US Army needed training in hostage negotiation Detective Shanahan and his boss Lieutenant Jack Cambria answered the call. They taught the US army hostage negotiation skills at Guantanamo Bay after the 9/11 attacks. This episode is 2:20 long. Mark and I just had so many interesting questions to ask and James had so many stories to tell we wanted it on tape. This segment is interesting, thought provoking, and hilarious.
