Brando Diaz has been in Law Enforcement since 2001. He grew up in a police home with my dad and two uncles working for Chicago PD. In Fort Lauderdale he's worked in various assignments including plain clothes street crimes unit called the Tactical Impact Unit, Narcotics K-9, SWAT and Investigations to include Economic Crimes and Violent Crimes. During his time in patrol he was a field training officer and enjoyed teaching the new officers how to do the job safely, while still making an impact by catching some bad guys. He has been the target of a federal lawsuit and has had investigations taken over by the Dept of Justice for shootings he was involved in during hs time in TIU. Those experiences really drove home his personal desire to take care of our officers and he became more and more involved in the labor side of law enforcement with the Union. He has been a Union rep for 13 years and currently is the President of Fort Lauderdale Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 31.
