Police off the Cuff After Hours episode # 16 with Carla Caccavale

Carla Caccavale was just 20 days old when her father, NYPD Detective George Caccavale, was gunned down in an armed robbery. She has worked tirelessly to make sure her father’s sacrifice was properly memorialized and his memory would live on through her and children’s connection to the NYPD. In 2019 an NYPD Transit K9 was named in honor of her father. Carla created a memorial sweatshirt to mark the occasion for her family and the officer who was partnered with the dog. What happened next made headlines around the world and raised thousands of dollars for police charities. Carla has become a passionate advocate for law enforcement officers past and present.
