Retired NYPD Deputy Chief Michael Blake was born in the South Bronx along with his seven brothers and three sisters.  He was educated in the public school system and graduated from St. Joseph College with a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management.  In 1986 Michael joined the NYPD and held the positions of Police Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Inspector, Inspector, Deputy Chief and retired from the NYPD in 2013, as the Commanding Officer of the Counterterrorism Division.    A short list of commands he worked in during his tenure with the NYPD is 24, 25, 30, 34, 43, 102 and 103 Precincts, Manhattan North and Brooklyn North and Queens Narcotics, Queens Gang Unit and Manhattan South Task Force. After Chief Blake retired from the NYPD He went to work for the Department of Corrections as the Deputy Commissioner of the Office of Excellence.  Currently, Michael is a partner at Merrick Financial Group, which is a Full-service investments and financial services company.
