#186: Bending Reality
Today we are talking about how our perception of the world and the perception of our own reality is directly tied to our brains primitive survival systems. Because of the way we are “wired,” we often jump to unreasonable conclusions about the observations we make.
During the episode we give a number of examples of how our brain is fooled by things that are “cognitively close enough” which directly affects how we interpret information, especially when it comes to visual analysis and information processing. We also talk about how to prevent a visual illusion from creating cognitive dissonance.
